My first encounter with Hepatitis B

Author: Arpita Roy

My first encounter with Hepatitis B left a scar in my life. The battle began that none of us could have imagined. My professor and mentor was diagnosed with hepatitis B, and from that moment, his life became a journey of courage, patience, and strength.

He faced the illness with remarkable dignity. Even through the difficult days, he continued to inspire the people around him. To me, he was more than a professor. He was a teacher, a guide, a mentor, and someone who believed in me when I needed it most. But it was very difficult for me to watch him loosing weight and becoming a frequent hospital visitor.

His illness may have taken away his strength over time, but it never took away the impact he had on the lives he touched. The lessons he taught went far beyond books and classrooms. He taught us perseverance, kindness, humility, and the importance of never giving up.

After five long years of battling hepatitis B, he sadly passed away. His absence has left a space that cannot be filled, but his teachings and memories remain with us.

Some people leave this world, but their influence continues to live through the people they inspired. My professor and mentor is one of those people.
